Day 2 Lima

Start your day with a trip to the Surquillo district’s Market No. 1, where you’ll discover an incredible variety of fresh produce, meats, fish, and more. Learn about the ingredients that make Peruvian food so special and unique.

Next, indulge in a fruit tasting experience with fruits harvested directly from Peru’s diverse regions. Your guide will explain the origin and uses of each fruit, adding a layer of knowledge to the experience.

Following the tasting, enjoy a hands-on cooking class where you’ll prepare a range of traditional Peruvian dishes. Choose from Peruvian classics, Andean specialties, or seafood dishes. The class includes water, juice, and a Pisco Sour to complement your meal.

Day 3 Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley

Welcome to Cusco and begin your adventure in the Sacred Valley with a visit to Awanacancha, the Andean Camelid Zoo, and Pisac’s ancient Inca neighborhood.

After a hearty breakfast, our host will accompany you to the airport for your flight to Cusco, located 75 minutes away by air. As you soar over the Andean peaks, you’ll be in awe of the natural beauty that Peru has to offer.

Upon arrival in Cusco, we’ll transport you to the Sacred Valley, a serene location 600 meters lower than Cusco, perfect for acclimatizing to the altitude. Along the way, we’ll visit Awanacancha, where you’ll get up close to the llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas that are integral to Andean culture. You’ll also witness the traditional art of weaving these animals’ fine fur into intricate garments.

Your journey continues to Pisac, an ancient Inca site with terraced fields, temples, and even an Inca cemetery. Afterward, explore the famous Pisac market, where you can purchase beautiful hand-crafted goods.

After the market, enjoy a delightful lunch made from local ingredients at a restaurant nestled in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

Day 4 Sacred Valley

Explore the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, the salt mines of Maras, and the mysterious terraces of Moray.

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel, then embark on a journey to discover the sacred treasures of the Valley. First, explore the mighty Ollantaytambo fortress, one of the last strongholds of the Inca empire during the Spanish invasion. Your guide will share captivating stories about the site’s history, including the legend of a general’s forbidden love.

Next, head to the salt mines of Maras, where thousands of small, natural salt pools gleam in the sunlight, still used by locals today. Then, discover the agricultural laboratory of Moray, an impressive series of circular terraces used by the Incas to experiment with crop acclimatization.

After a delicious lunch, you’ll return to your hotel to relax and prepare for the next adventure.

Day 5 Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Conquer the legendary Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of the Inca empire!

The day to visit Machu Picchu has arrived! After breakfast, your host will transfer you to Ollantaytambo station for your scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The train ride will take you through lush jungle landscapes and along the Vilcanota River, offering a truly unique view of the region.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you’ll board a bus that will take you to the top of the mountain, where the Machu Picchu citadel awaits. Spend two hours exploring the magnificent ruins, learning about the history and mystery of this ancient site from your expert guide.

Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch in Aguas Calientes before returning to Cusco by train. Your guide will meet you at the train station for a transfer back to your hotel in Cusco, where you can enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Optional: If you’d like to extend your stay in Aguas Calientes, let us know. We can arrange for an additional night at the base of Machu Picchu, with a second visit or a hike to Huayna Picchu for stunning views and photos.

Day 6 Cusco

Explore the historic city of Cusco, known as the “Rome of America” for its rich cultural heritage.

After breakfast, your guide will take you on a tour of Cusco’s most iconic sights. Visit Sacsayhuaman, a massive fortress built with enormous stones. Explore the ancient Qenqo ceremonial center, the Puca Pucara military barracks, and the Tambomachay baths, once used by Inca royalty.

In the heart of Cusco, visit the Cathedral and admire its stunning Renaissance architecture, along with its unique art collection. The tour concludes at Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, where Inca and Spanish architectural styles blend seamlessly.

Afterward, you may choose to enjoy lunch or dinner in one of Cusco’s charming restaurants, or our guide can arrange a transfer to your hotel.

Day 7 Cusco – Lima

Bid farewell to Peru in the best way possible!
