Tipon – Pikillacta – Andahuaylillas Tour
The tour begins with the pickup of participants from their hotel in Cusco between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. At 9:00 a.m., we’ll start the journey with a visit to the Tipón Archaeological Park, a place that exemplifies Inca hydraulic engineering. We will then head to the Pikillacta Archaeological Complex, an ancient Wari city famous for its advanced urban planning and impressive walls up to seven meters high. Finally, we will visit the Church of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas,” for its unique colonial art and fusion of Andean symbols.
On the way back to Cusco, we will enjoy a culinary experience, tasting traditional regional products such as the famous Oropesa bread and delicious oven-baked guinea pig in Tipón. The day will end with a visit to Saylla to try the Cusco-style pork cracklings before returning to Cusco’s Main Square.
